ABOUT IVANA DE VIVANCO

Ivana de Vivanco (b. 1989) is a Chilean-Peruvian artist based in Germany. Her work commonly relies on nonsensical narratives, with mythical tendencies and recurrent characters that violate the intimacy of the private domain through scenarios that seem enlivened by uncanny, dreamlike or even vaguely nightmarish curiosities. Her work has been featured in several publications such as 100 Painters of Tomorrow published in London by Thames & Hudson and has been exhibited in the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Poland, and Chile. She was awarded the DAAD, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, and the Cultural Foundation of Saxony grant. In 2015 she was awarded the Marion-Ermer-Prize for young artists in Germany. Most recently her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago (CL), Kunsthalle Darmstadt (DE) and The RYDER Projects in Madrid (ES).
